I entered the annual book cover competition in 2024 for the adult fiction genre where the novel was ‘Daisy Jones and The Six’. My inspiration behind the design was the grunge rock era that the band was embodying in the book, combining textured photography with rough sketchy illustration. I created a final design that resembled the imagery used throughout the book in that 70s time period effectively.





 

Full Book Sleeve


My final book cover sleeve used a capitalised font to portray the loudness of the 70s grunge rock era as well as to create contrast with the photography behind. The title font was made using Photoshop tools to have an effect which resembled the stickers that would get plastered onto a band’s guitarist instrument case.
