I like to do open briefs in my spare time, and this was one from Escapade Pictures through the Oditi website. It required the designers to create a logo for the new production studio, producing TV and film.
The brief described the logo as needing to be an adventurous, dynamic design, something that draws audiences in. Also versatility where the logo must look great as a static image, and have potential for animation.
RESEARCH PROCESS
To come up with a concept, I knew I had to look at logos from film and TV which already existed, taking in what worked well for each, pointing out key design elements present.
IDEATION
To ideate, I first looked into the meaning behind the word escapade, then made links between key words and visual cues. Sketching up small ideas and reference imagery started to lead down a road of anticipation, adrenaline and adventure.
